Bay Air Flying Service has been in business since 1945 at the historic waterfront Albert Whitted Airport in downtown Saint Petersburg, Florida. Whether you intend to fly for recreational or business purposes, we can help you achieve your goals through a customized training program. From Private Pilot through Airline Transport Pilot, we have the instructors and aircraft to get you there at your own pace and at your own schedule.
Introductory Flight
Are you interested in flying lessons yet uncertain as to whether or not you would like to pursue them? Try an intro flight. You and an instructor will soar off into the blue Florida sky for half an hour. You will take the controls, command the aircraft and view your community from a totally new perspective.

We boast a large fleet of top of the line aircraft for all of your flying needs - three Cessna 172 G1000 aircraft, a Light Sport Cessna Skycatcher 162, three standard Cessna 172's, a Cessna 182 G1000 WAAS, a Cessna 182 G1000 Turbo, as well as a Piper Archer. Our aircraft are maintained by our fully staffed maintenance and avionics departments to ensure a level of quality and compliance second to none.
Flight School
We have a staff of five full time instructors who are available seven days a week, 365 days a year to meet all of your flying needs. Our business hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with before and after hours rentals available at the FBO, St. Petersburg Flying Service. We are a Cessna Pilot Center which allows for both traditional training methods as well as an at home computerized study which can be monitored by your CFI (certified flight instructor) to guide your training.
