My friend Keith invited me along to Lake Wales today for lunch. Lake Wales Airport, X07, is essentially a sky diving airport. With ours, there were only four planes on the field. We heard of a great restaurant about two miles away. We mooched a ride with a guy and his father. The guy turned out to be a fairly well known young musician, Fabian. The restaurant is called Crazy Fish Bar and Grill. I had a Mahi Mahi blackened sandwich and Keith had the Grouper. Great food. We had to walk the 2 miles back to the airport. We took a short cut using the railroad tracks. I haven't "walked the rails" for 40 years probably. It was a gorgeous day for doing anything except ice skating and particularly wonderful for flying. The winds were from the SE at 8 kts. Here are some photos.

Bok Tower just NE of Lake Wales with orange groves behind. I think the ground there at less than 400' above
sea level is the highest spot in Florida.

We are back at the barn, safe and sound, having cheated death once again.
